Fally Ipupa N’simba who is popular as Fally Ipupa is a musician, songwriter, dancer, producer, and philanthropist from the Democratic Republic of Congo (Archos,2014). He was born on the 14th of December 1977 in Kinshasa and brought up in a Catholic setup. Fally’s style of music is mainly Rumba, Ndombolo, Soukous, and R&B. His musical journey commenced by singing in the church choir while he grew up. When he became a teenager, he joined a couple of small groups which helped him achieve recognition. This made him join more popular groups such as New City, New Covenant, Latent Talent then ultimately, Quartier Latin International formed by Koffi Olamide.
He released his first group album with Latent Talent music group. He was part of Quartier Latin International music band from 1999 to 2006 after which he began a solo music career. When still in Quartier Latin International, they released albums such as Force de Frappe and Efrakata. He contributed to the release of various albums in the band by compositions such as “Eternelement” and duets such as “Effervescent” which he did with Koffi Olamide.
He dropped his premier individual album dubbed Droit Chemin in 2006. Since then he has released other albums which are Arsenal de Belles Melodies in 2009, Power “Kosa Leka” in 2013, Tokoos in 2017 and Control in 2018 (Ipupa,2016). He has worked under a number of music labels such as Obouo Music, Elektra France, F-Victeam, Universal A-Z and Rockstar4000. He has worked with numerous renowned artists including 2Face Idibia, Flavour, Olivia (former member of G-Unit), R Kelly, Keri Hilson, David Monsoh, Youssou N’dour, Salif Keita, Kasaloo Kyanga, Icha Kavons, Youssoupha, Passi, Lynnsha, Lokua Kanza, Dj Arafat, Booba, Eve, Aya Nakumara, D’banj and Big Masta G (Muana Mboka).
His hit songs include “Sweet Life” (La Vie Est Belle), “Nidja”, “We the Best”, “Viens On Va Danser”, “Malembe”, “Chaise Electrique”, “Noir Blanc”, “Sexy Dance”, “Bye Bye”, “Lucille Kremer”, “Jungle Remix”, “Jukpa Remix”, “Tshobo”, “Merci Maman”, “Nakozonga”, “Pesa Nga Valeur Na Nga”, “Kwarikwa Remix”, “Papa Kele”, “Kobosana Te” and “La Vie Sans Toi” (Mustafa,2016).

He has received several awards including Trophees de Arts Afro-Caribbean, Black Music Awards, Best Clip in Benin, Male Artist of the Year in Cote d’Ivoire, Kora Awards, Best Male Artist at African Cesaire, Ndule Awards, Sound City Music Video Awards, MTV Africa Music Video Awards, Museke Online Africa Music Awards, Okapi Awards, Trace Urban Music Awards, All Africa Music Awards and Afrimma Dallas (Bella,2010). He has also been nominated for International Reggae Awards, World Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, BET Awards and Nostalgies Music Awards (MTV,2011).
He earned a gold record for his album “Droit Chemin” after selling over a hundred thousand copies and yet another one for his second solo album, Arsenal de Belles Melodies which sold over a million copies. He also became the fifth most searched personality on Yahoo.fr in 2009. He also worked alongside artists such as R Kelly, Ali Kiba, 2Face Idibia and Amani to produce the song “Hands Across the World” for the One8 Project.
